Admin Arcade is where I turn the grown-up tasks I keep dodging into something I’ll actually do. Bills, subscriptions, renewals, the folder of documents that lives in a drawer. Every post here ships a printable or a small tool that does the boring part for you.
Why this site exists
I need systems to get organized in life. I’ve found that if I gamify those systems, I’m a lot more likely to stick to them. So many adulting tasks just zoom on by me unless they’re in my face. A renewal I meant to cancel. A bill that moved its due date. The car thing I said I’d deal with in the spring.
So I started building the in-your-face part. A tracker with a score. A checklist that feels like a level. A subscription audit that treats every cancelled charge like a coin dropping into the tray. It’s a little silly, and it works on me, so I’m sharing it.
Who it’s for
You, if your plate is so full you freeze. Not lazy, not disorganized, just done. Too many open loops and no idea which one to close first, so none of them get closed. I know that freeze from the inside. Nothing here asks you to overhaul your life. Each post is one task, one artifact, one small win.
Why an arcade
I’m a product of the 80s and 90s, and an arcade vibe just makes me happy. Turning paperwork into a bit of a game gives me a small dopamine boost, and that boost is usually the difference between doing the thing and looking at the thing. If a high score gets my insurance renewed on time, I’ll take the high score.
About me
I’m Jen. I’ve been blogging since 2010 and building small web tools since I figured out I could. I have ADHD, diagnosed at 46, which explained a lot of drawers. It’s not the point of this site, but it is why the systems here look the way they do: short, visible, and a little bit fun.
I also run Jen Tried It, where I test products, jen8n, where I write about building things, and Seeding Serendipity, where I slow down and let good things find me. Admin Arcade is the one where the paperwork finally gets done.
